We get A LOT of questions. It's something we love the most about our customers. Because it means y'all give a damn about where your food is coming from and how it's raised.

I want to share with you 10 questions from this past week. Some are questions we get a lot, some aren't. But I bet that at least one person out there wants to know the answer to them. So here goes!

We only sell direct to consumer. Unfortunately we do not have the margins or systems to sell wholesale. Committing so much product is a huge risk for us. We grow the majority of our animals during the summer months, so there's a lot of planning required to determine how much product we will need a year in advance. Considering the time and inputs it requires for us to grow an animal over the course of a year, and fluctuating costs, it would be difficult for us to create a wholesale relationship.

 

Do you have a store that locals can come to or do you only do online orders?

We don't have a physical store where you can come in and shop. All of our orders are placed online through our website. However, we do offer a local pickup option if that suits your needs. Once your order is placed, it will be ready for pickup within 24 business hours. You can find it in our customer freezers at our pickup location, which is open 7am-7pm, 7 days a week.

 

Can I pick eggs up today while I'm in the area?

Thanks for reaching out. We ask that customers purchase their eggs before picking them up in case we are out of stock. If there are eggs in the cooler but the website says we are out of stock, then all of our eggs are already accounted for. We do require a $75 minimum for all orders, including eggs only orders. If you're interested in buying just a couple dozen eggs at a time, we also sell our eggs right down the street at the NUVU Gas Station on the corner of 10 Mile and Meyers Lake.

 

Do you sell beef in half or whole?

Do you vaccinate your animals and if so, do you use mRNA as well?

We do not use any mRNA vaccines on our animals. We do not plan to use mRNA vaccines on our livestock and feel strongly about this choice. We actually wrote a blog on this very topic if you'd like to read more about our stance: mRNA Vaccines

We are selective with vaccines and only use them when necessary. Our meat chickens and hogs do not receive any vaccines. Our egg laying hens receive a vaccine for the Mareks Virus. Our cattle and lambs may receive vaccines as calves for respiratory and diarrhea viruses and clostridial diseases. We believe that by raising healthy animals in their natural environment, most vaccines are not necessary.

 

Does your chicken sausage come in pork casing?

Our chicken sausages are packed in a beef collagen casing.

 

Can you tell me what cuts go into your ground chicken?

Our ground chicken consists of chicken breasts and leg/thigh meat combined.

 

Are the chicken skins corn and soy free?

Our pasture raised chickens are supplemented with a non-gmo grain that does contain non-gmo corn and soy. We use this feed in addition to what the chickens naturally forage for on pasture to ensure they are meeting their nutritional requirements in order to grow healthily. The skin itself is raw chicken skin and contains no added ingredients.

 

Do you sell whole pigs for roasting?

We do not sell whole animals. We sell by the individual cut or through our value bundles.

 

Do you ever have beef leaf fat available?

We do offer beef suet, however, it's a fast selling item for us so we're often out of stock. We'll be restocking all of our beef products towards the end of next week, this will include beef suet. If you haven't already signed up for our marketing emails/SMS, I would advise you to do so because these customers will be the first to know when our beef is restocked. Stay tuned!
