That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with Net To Table Seafoods, a family-owned business dedicated to catching wild-caught Alaskan seafood straight from the pristine waters of Alaska.
Why Net To Table?
We first met Net to Table at a farmers market in our hometown of Rockford. As both our families spent every Saturday that summer at the farmers market, we learned their story and just how similar we were. Luke and Eliza, both public school teachers turned Bristol Bay salmon fishermen, were originally from Alaska, moved to Michigan and travel back to Alaska to fish every year.
Net To Table stands against the destructive practices of large fishery corporations that rely on factory trawlers.These industrial methods wreak havoc on marine ecosystems, unintentionally killing millions of pounds of non-target species like salmon, halibut, crab, herring, and even orcas each year.
In contrast, Net To Table employs sustainable fishing methods such as set gillnets, jigging, pot fishing, and longlining, ensuring minimal environmental impact. They catch their own wild salmon from Bristol Bay and source other seafood directly from small-boat fishermen in Kodiak and Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
This approach guarantees that every fish is sustainably-caught and every fisherman is fairly treated.
