EASY Crockpot Chicken Drumstick Tacos
This recipe is extremely easy and versatile. This recipe is great for chicken taco meat in any recipe! Instead of tacos, do you want BBQ chicken sandwiches? Just add some BBQ sauce at the end!
Why Drumsticks?
👍 They are a less expensive cut (And you can buy in bulk and save!).
👍 Bones, skin, and fat = More nutrition and taste (The leftover liquid turns to gel from all the cartilage!).
👍 Easy to de-bone and shred (Just watch out for the skinny bone that sits next to the big one).
What you Need:
This recipe is for 4 packages of our chicken drumsticks with 4 drumsticks in each package. Adjust as needed!
● Chicken Drumsticks (4 pkgs)
● 1 Lime (Squeezed)
● 1 TB Paprika
● 1 TB Chili Powder
● 1 TB Cumin
● 1 TB Oregano
● 2-3 Garlic Cloves (minced)
● 1 Small Onion (chopped)
● Salt and Pepper to taste
How to Make it:
1. Put the drumsticks in the crockpot
2. Add the lime, spices, garlic, onion, salt and pepper.
3. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours.
4. Once cooked, remove them from the crockpot and reserve 1/2 cup of the liquid. Allow to cool a bit. Once they are cool enough to be handled, you can strip the meat from the bones and skin and shred it (This is easiest to do when the meat is still warm).
5. Put the meat back in the crockpot with the reserved juices and heat back up for 20-30 min.
6. Done! Now you can make tacos, burritos, taco bowls, nachos.... The options are endless!
Note: Drums are a great cut to use to make broth, too!
